  • RO DBT Skills Class for Clinicians

Do you lean OC yourself? Eager to teach RO DBT skills to your clients but still need to learn them yourself? Skills class is for you.

    • Learn skills that are not taught in depth in the workshop or digital course

    • Learn how skills apply to yourself AND your clients with eating disorders

  • Individual/Group Supervision

Looking to receive your certification in the Eating Disorder (CEDS) field while using an RO DBT approach? Kayla offers individual and group supervision for clinicians seeking additional continuing education towards an understanding of interprofessional use of therapeutic modalities like Radically Open DBT in Eating Disorders.

  • Annual 3 Hour Workshop (Sept 2023)

If you work with clients who are perfectionistic, have rigid and rule-governed behavior, have a difficult time relaxing or being spontaneous, and who mask inner feelings, then this workshop is for you! These traits help define an overcontrolled temperament, or one who has excessive self control, which is what RO DBT treats. If you work in the eating disorder field, you no doubt are working with overcontrolled temperaments and would benefit from taking the workshop. If you work using medical nutrition therapy in a population with overcontrolled temperaments, then this is also for you!

  • Blended Learning Digital Course

If you choose to further your training in RO DBT, you can begin the Blended Learning Digital Course. Dr. Tom Lynch will give you practical skills to use in individual or group settings to address the underlying maladaptive overcontrolled temperament that began before the eating disorder. My practice has changed in significant ways by using RO DBT. Here are some of my favorite strategies that you can learn, too.

What People Are Saying

I learned how important the person's state/temperment is and how it really affects their receptivity to your treatment plan/information. It was validating for what I am doing right in that regard and where I need improvement. I will be a better clinician in adapting to meet clients emotional needs to help them receive/use information better and also better work together on the curiosity piece and motivation

— Participant of 3hr Training

Well done! Modeled a great balance of passion for the topic with an easy manner, good humor and excellent team work.

— Participant of 3hr Training

I found that learning about OC coping and what that may look like made me feel very seen since I find there has been gaps in care with folks who tend to fall into this category. This class showed me how much I have to learn about myself and how to break it up in digestible ways.

— Participant of Clinician Skills Class

I thought it was a good overview of RO-DBT as a possibility to support nutrition recovery. The presenters were engaging, and the materials were aligned with how I prefer to practice (focusing on the factors that make coping with food a likelihood)
